Cookbooks Are More than Recipes
There are few things that make me more excited than perusing through a new cookbook. It gives me hope of finding that hidden gem -- or one more dish to add to our rotation. Right now is a great time to grab cookbooks as Amazon has the majority of my favorites and recommendations for more than HALF OFF. Gone are the days of ugly books. People are styling them in kitchens beautifully now, so even if you don't love the content, they make a great visual for your countertop. Some

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
I'll be honest. I have never been a fan of chocolate chip cookies. However, once in a while I find one that I will eat -- this is one of them. I now have two recipes. The original recipe I adapted from claims they onlly make 8 cookies. I found stretching it to just over 16 cookies was perfect. Ingredients 2/3 cup salted butter 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 3/4 cups milk chocolate ch

A Fall Tour Through New England: Charming Towns, Beautiful Homes & Coastal Maine
Visiting New England in the fall has long been on my bucket list. Growing up with the Union Pacific Railroad calendars my mom had on our walls, they always featured rolling hills with iconic barns and churches with steeples. Knowing it gets even better in the fall motivated me to see it in person. So, we packed up our bags and flew here to see what the magic is all about. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. Our route began in Portland then Vermont, New Hampshire then up to

Almond Joy Protein Balls
I'm not a professional photographer, but you get the idea of how these look! They are so good. Occasionally, I will share recipes I love. And this is one healthy treat I love to keep in my freezer. I freeze them in balls, then put them in a ziplock bag once frozen. It makes for easy access when you need a dose of chocolate and protein as a snack. DRY INGREDIENTS 1 1/2 cups old fashion oats slightly broken down in the blender 1/2 cup toasted unsweetened coconut (don't skip toa

Spicy Chicken Tortilla Soup
Years ago, when Joan Lunden was on Good Morning America, she shared this recipe. I felt fortunate enough I had access to the internet to find their site to print off the recipe -- believe it or not, that wasn't readily available back then. My original printout was stained and hard to read as we have made this soup countless times and often appears in our rotation. My husband particularly loves this soup when he goes hunting. It does freeze well -- but I have only done that a

When you visit Black Desert...
I begin it by saying, WHEN you visit Black Desert, because in my opinion, it is a must -- not an if. We spent a few days spoiling ourselves at the Black Desert in Ivins, Utah. And while I will tell you some of the amazing things about this resort, I will also tell you what other things to see in the area if you happen to want to venture out. First of all, the resort is fairly new -- having opened in stages since fall of 2024. It is quite pristine, so you feel like you are th
