I recently caught up with three highly respected Utah-based designers, each of whom shared what they’re hoping to see woven into future designs.

Looking at the landscape of 2026, Kimberly Parker, owner and principal designer of Kimberly Parker Design, told me the one thing she is most excited about is implementing tactile warmth through monochromatic textures. "This year I’m leaning into physical contrast using different materials within the same color family. The room feels serene, but also soulful because your eyes and hands are constantly discovering new textures."
You will often see those elements and textures in several luxury mountain estates she designs.
"We are definitely seeing a resurgence in color use and high contrast, which can be fun," stated Kimberly. "Loud designs can also be overstimulating. Monochromatic textures will always feel timeless and allow emphasis on the architecture."

Ali Henrie, owner and principal designer of Ali Henrie Design, shared she is drawn to collected pieces that add warmth, character, and a sense of coziness without feeling cluttered.
“I love when a home feels layered and thoughtfully built over time, rather than styled all at once.” Ali explained. “I’m especially focused on creating more curated moments in our designs; styled corners and small vignettes that tell a story. Not just a single vintage piece, but groupings that naturally flow together and feel lived-in and intentional.”

And lastly, inspired by a recent trip to Europe, Allison Campbell, owner of Allison Campbell Design, is looking forward to incorporating a little Spanish flair into an upcoming custom build.
"I would love to see the use of more jewel tones interspersed with slight Spanish style accents bringing Old World home again."
This Eurpoean influence will be especially showing up in a kitchen she is currently designing for a client.
A home’s personality is guided by its owner’s preferences. These designers thoughtfully hone in on what each homeowner values, accentuating a vibe that feels personal and intentional.
